The Traveler's Gift: Seven Decisions That Determine Personal Success

Have you ever been asked, "if you could go back in time and meet anyone you wanted, who would it be?"  My guess is that you have been asked this question and I am sure you have a few people from the past you would like to meet if you could.

Obviously, if this question were asked to 100 people we would get 100 different answers and 100 different reasons for each choice.  The point, however, is that there are great men and women of history that we are drawn to for one reason or another.  People who accomplished great things or had a great impact on their generation and many generations to come.

How valuable would it be if you could spend a few minutes speaking with Abraham Lincoln during the Civil War?  What invaluable piece of information could you glean from a conversation with Christopher Columbus on his way to finding the new world?  Or what could you learn by spending even a few minutes with a young Anne Frank as she and her family were in hiding from the Nazis during World War II?

These are just some of the people that David Ponder is fortunate enough to meet as he travels through time to learn the "seven decisions that determine personal success," in Andy Andrews' book The Traveler's Gift.

David Ponder is a man not all that different from any of us.  He has a family and a job but he is struggling with life and wondering if it is all worth it.  Then, right as he is about to do something rash, he is swept away and into time where he meets seven people who all had a part in shaping our world today.  From each of these people he learns another of the "seven decisions.

Obviously, The Traveler's Gift is fictional, but Andrews has thoroughly studied each of the historical figures so that he can present them in a way that is extremely authentic.  You believe that each conversation between David Ponder and one of these historical figures is an actual conversation that we are getting to listen in on.

Andrews has an incredible writing style that really brings The Traveler's Gift to life.  The story is entertaining and hard to put down and the seven decisions are easy to understand and apply to your life.  This is one time where you can literally read to be entertained and change your life all at the same time.
